As of late April 2025, Ukrainian model and influencer Maria Kovalchuk remains hospitalized in Dubai, recovering from severe injuries sustained under mysterious circumstances.
On March 9, Maria informed friends she was attending a hotel party in Dubai, reportedly invited by two men claiming to be modeling agents. She was scheduled to fly to Thailand on March 11 but never boarded the flight, prompting concern among her friends and family. After ten days of being uncontactable, Maria was found on March 19 near a Dubai road with multiple injuries, including a broken spine and fractured limbs. She was discovered without her phone, identification, or documents and was unable to speak due to the severity of her injuries.
Dubai Police stated that Maria sustained her injuries after entering a restricted construction site alone and falling from a height. However, her family disputes this account, suggesting she may have been the victim of a violent assault.
Maria has undergone multiple surgeries and remains under medical supervision. Her family continues to seek clarity on the events leading to her injuries, and investigations are ongoing.
