In Revelation, the “Synagogue of Satan” is used to describe those who oppose the early Christian communities, specifically those who identify as Jewish but are seen as not truly following God’s will.

Here, I will give you some from the synagogue of the Adversary, those who call themselves Jews but aren’t — on the contrary, they are lying — see, I will cause them to come and prostrate themselves at your feet, and they will know that I have loved you.
Now you will see what I will do with those people who belong to Satan’s group. They claim to be God’s people, but they are liars. I will make them come and kneel down at your feet. Then they will know that I love you.

Some people there say that they are Jews. But that is not true. They are telling lies. Instead, they belong to a group of Satan’s people. I will cause those people to bend down low in front of you to give you honour. Then they will understand that I love you.
Look, I will make those who are from the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not but are lying—look, I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them realize that I have loved you.

I know what you have done. See, I have given you a door flung wide open, which no man can close! For you have some little power and have been faithful to my message and have not denied my name.
