NYC Shooter Who Killed Four Plotted Assault on NFL Headquarters

1 min read

A gunman who killed four people in a violent rampage across New York was reportedly targeting the National Football League (NFL) headquarters, authorities revealed on Tuesday.

Police said the suspect, identified as a 38-year-old male with a history of mental health issues, opened fire in multiple locations before being apprehended near Manhattan. Investigators discovered evidence indicating that the NFL headquarters in Midtown was his intended final destination.

“Based on our findings, it is clear the suspect had detailed plans and intent to attack the NFL headquarters,” NYPD Commissioner Thomas Keller stated. “We intercepted him before he could reach the building, preventing what could have been a much larger tragedy.”

The shooting spree left four people dead and several others injured. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as the gunman moved through city streets before police cornered him near Bryant Park. Authorities recovered firearms, ammunition, and handwritten notes referencing grievances against the NFL.

While the motive remains under investigation, officials confirmed no direct connection between the gunman and the league. Security has since been tightened around NFL offices and other major landmarks in the city.

Mayor Eric Adams condemned the attack, praising police for their swift response: “We narrowly avoided an even greater catastrophe. Our city stands united against such acts of violence.”

The suspect remains in custody as prosecutors prepare to bring multiple charges, including murder and terrorism-related offenses.
