The US Trade Representative Office (USTR) issued a notice in the Federal Register on Friday (7th) to officially transfer certain goods imported from China into the US tariff rate (from 10% to 25%). The time was postponed until June 15 and the measures were earlier than last Friday (May 31).
The Federal Register noticed that products exported from China to the United States before May 10, 2019 will still be subject to an additional 10% tariff after entering the United States. These goods were originally scheduled to be levied on June 1, 2019. The tariff was raised to 25%, but USTR extended the tax rate to June 15.
The United States announced on May 9 that since May 10, the tariff rate imposed on the $200 billion lists of goods imported from China has increased from 10% to 25%.
