In order to avoid the punitive tariffs of the United States, Google is accelerating the transfer of part of the Nest thermostat and server hardware production operations outside of mainland China.
Bloomberg reported on Tuesday (11th) that anonymous insiders reported that Google has transferred most of its motherboard sales to the US to avoid a 25% tariff.
According to people familiar with the matter, the tariff factor has also led to the transfer of Nest equipment produced in the United States to Taiwan and Malaysia. Under the threat of tariffs in the United States, some foreign-invested companies began to seek to transfer production from China.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that China cannot afford to lose a lot of foreign companies, so the government wants to reach an agreement with Washington.
