Analysts estimate that Disney’s (DIS-US) global movie box office revenue this year is more than $9 billion, which is a bit higher than last year’s $7.3 billion.
According to Comscore, Disney’s box office revenue in North America reached $1.6 billion in May and global revenues exceeded $4 billion. Cowen analyst Doug Creutz estimates that Disney’s global movie box office revenues should be well above last year’s level and could exceed $9 billion.
The Avengers: The Final Battle has earned more than $825 million in revenue in the United States. Creutz points out that other films such as Toy Story 4, Lion King, Frozen 2 and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are expected to sell more than $500 million in box office in North America this year. Last year, only three Disney movies broke through the $500 million box office at the US box office.
