Anatoly Balchev presented his film “Vysotsky. Unknown… True Stories.” at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

On May 16, as part of the Cannes Film Festival, a special screening, which can be called a premiere, of the new film by director Anatoly Balchev “Vysotsky. Unknown… True Stories.” was held. The guest of honor and producer was Anna Shtukkert.

The film combines previously unknown chronicles of Vysotsky and his inner circle, filmed during the poet’s lifetime by Pyotr Soldatenko and staged episodes from the biography of the great Poet and Bard. The film features: Marina Vlady, Mikhail Shemyakin, Vadim Tumanov, Vsevolod Abdulov, as well as Vasily Mishchenko, Evgeny Tkachuk and others.

In addition to accredited guests of the Cannes Film Festival, many representatives of the first wave of Russian emigration were present at the premiere.
As expected, the film made many of those present feel nostalgic for the era that has gone forever. And of course, some of the guests who once knew V. Vysotsky shed tears.

Before the screening, the author Anatoly Balchev announced the start of work on the next film about Vladimir Vysotsky, which will complete the trilogy of his films. Filming of the third film “Vysotsky. They won’t put up a monument to me in the park…” has already started on May 9 in the city of Gorokhovets near the monument and fountain of V. Vysotsky. The guests of the premiere were introduced to the popular singer-songwriter of modern chanson rap Gio Pika, as one of the main participants in the new project.

The premiere in Cannes took place with the assistance of the studio “IFREE LLC”, which works in the field of creating high-tech digital music content.

In particular, the studio “IFREE” LLC announced the imminent release of the digital show “V. Vysotsky” as part of the premiere screening. Singularity”, in which rapper Gio Pika also took part, along with Diana Ankudinova, Nikita Dzhigurda, Nelli Baimatova and others. The organizers of the Cannes Film Market are eagerly awaiting the release of new projects about V. Vysotsky next year.
