The China-US trade war continues, and China threatens to launch counter-measures against the US. US President Trump (Donald Trump) said on August 15 that the trade agreement with China needs to comply with US terms.
Trump said in an interview with New Hampshire Radio WGIR, “Frankly, China is willing to reach an agreement, and this agreement needs to have the appropriate terms. Frankly speaking, this is an agreement that complies with our (US) terms. Otherwise, what is the purpose of this?”
Washington announced that it will impose a 10% tariff on Chinese goods valued at US$3,000 from September 1. It then decided to postpone tax on some goods. The State Council of China stated that the US measures violated the consensus of the heads of state of the two countries in Argentina and Osaka, and China will have to take necessary counter-measures.
