After Mexico Sea’s Deputy Foreign Minister Jesus Seade visited Ottawa, Canada last week, he visited the US Trade Representative Office in Washington on Friday (6th).
Sid said that the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) has made good progress, but there are still many details to be resolved. Sid also said that officials in charge of the negotiations had actively contributed to this, but described the work as not easy.
The Mexican Congress has ratified the agreement this year, and Canada is waiting for the United States to proceed simultaneously. As the US Democratic Party is still concerned that the relevant labor and environmental standards in the agreement are not adequately guaranteed, it has not yet ratified the agreement.
