Christine Lagarde has resigned as president of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and is preparing to take over as president of the European Central Bank. The European Central Bank said that she had no objection at the helm, indicating that she had experience in the position.
Reuters quoted the European Central Bank as saying: “The management committee has no objection to this recommended candidate. Lagarde is a person with recognized status and professional experience in monetary or banking matters.”
This statement marks the official step into the appointment of Lagarde as the next president. If there is no accident, it will replace the outgoing Mario Draghi on November 1.
