Alexander Amos Yee (Alex Yee), born on February 18, 1998, in Lewisham, London, is a distinguished British athlete renowned for his accomplishments in both triathlon and distance running. He has achieved significant success on the international stage, including a gold medal in the men’s triathlon at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Additionally, Yee secured gold medals in the mixed relay triathlon events at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, making him one of the most decorated triathletes in British history. ​

Yee’s athletic journey began with a strong foundation in running. In 2018, he clinched the British 10,000m title and represented Great Britain at the European Athletics Championships.  His transition to triathlon was marked by rapid success, highlighted by victories in the World Triathlon Championship Series and the Super League Triathlon Championship Series. ​

In 2025, Yee ventured into marathon running, making his debut at the London Marathon on April 27. Despite facing challenges during his preparation, including illness that led to his withdrawal from the Barcelona Half Marathon, Yee aimed for a finish time between 2:07 and 2:10.  This ambitious goal reflects his dedication to pushing his limits and exploring new athletic frontiers.​
