Berlin, Germany – Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, a subsidiary of Emirates Science and Research Foundation, proudly participated in the Berlin Interfaith Dialogue Seminar held from May 11 to 14, 2025, in the German capital. The seminar was organized by Sharaka in collaboration with the Abraham Accords Institute in Germany.

This participation follows the Center’s remarkable success in organizing the International Dialogue of Civilizations and Tolerance Conference (IDCT 2025), which earned significant recognition across academic and diplomatic spheres. This achievement further strengthens the Center’s pivotal role in shaping a global narrative based on tolerance and openness, aligning with the UAE Tolerance policy that positions the country as a platform in fostering peaceful coexistence and cultural harmony.

The Seminar is recognized as one of the leading international platforms for promoting religious and cultural understanding. It brings together renowned faith leaders, decision-makers and thought leaders from across the globe to discuss strategies for advancing peace and building bridges between civilizations.

As part of this global dialogue, the Emirates Scholar Center delivered 2 impactful keynote addresses that embodied a scientific and humanitarian vision. Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, presented a speech titled Scientific Contribution in Promoting Tolerance and Peace, emphasizing the essential role of scientific research in fostering more tolerant and aware societies. He highlighted how knowledge stands as a powerful bridge between cultures, laying the foundation for sustainable global peace, reflecting the UAE Tolerance agenda at its finest.

The second keynote was delivered by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General and Board of Trustees Member, under the title The Role of Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Promoting Global Peace. He explored the immense potential of modern technologies and AI as soft power tools to foster cultural convergence. This aligns with the UAE Innovation strategy and reflects how Tech for Peace initiatives can create innovative platforms that support mutual understanding, harmony, and global dialogue.

During a productive meeting with H.E. Armin Laschet, former Prime Minister of Germany, and Dr. Felix Klein, Federal Government Commissioner for Jewish Life in Germany and the Fight Against Antisemitism, the Emirates Scholar delegation discussed practical ways to enhance intercultural dialogue and collaborate in combating hate speech worldwide.

The delegation also presented the Center’s flagship project, UAE Coexistence.ai, an advanced platform that utilizes AI and cutting-edge technology to promote values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence on a global scale. Additionally, the Center highlighted key research initiatives that support cross-cultural dialogue and offer innovative solutions for advancing community peace, demonstrating how this initiative can play a critical role in these efforts.

This active participation reinforces the UAE’s global standing as a beacon of tolerance and a hub for innovation, dialogue, and openness. With Dubai at the forefront of technological innovation and international cooperation, the Emirates Scholar Center exemplifies how combining scientific research with advanced technologies is the key to building a future grounded in peace, understanding, and sustainable development.

This reflects not only the UAE’s commitment to innovation but also its pioneering leadership in promoting a culture of peace through the UAE Tolerance frameworks.
