The Chair of the New York State Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (NYS TESOL) 51st Annual Conference, Dr. Jasmin Cowin, NYS TESOL President Monica Baker and the conference team are looking forward to a hybrid conference at the Sonesta in White Plains, NY on November 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2021. The topic and theme “Looking Forward: Educational Empowerment and Transformative Education” will engage attendees in conversations on emerging trends, issues, and solutions in TESOL education. NYS TESOL is offering three full days of workshops, plenary speakers, and practical sessions. This year’s conference features virtual, international site visits, an administrator ENL boot camp focusing on ENL regulations and speed networking sessions. International Fieldtrips: Travel the world to experience English Language teaching and learning through six virtual fieldtrips. Attendees will travel to Tanzania, Taiwan, Russia, India, Brazil and Yemen.

Dr. Olga De Jesus will deliver a workshop on ENL regulations and best practices for administrators

Raquel Batista, Commissioner of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs will address issues facing immigrant students and their parents.
