China’s A-shares fell this morning. The Shanghai Stock Exchange closed at 2,909 points, down 16 points. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange closed at 8,972 points, down 65 points.

Japanese stocks closed at 21,223 points on a half-day basis, up 19 points.
