The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held its 2nd plenary meeting on December 29. The Korean Central News Agency reported that Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un released a comprehensive national work report, calling for strengthening the country ’s independent economy, increasing agricultural production, and actively taking measures to comprehensively protect national sovereignty and Safety.
The report stated that Kim Jong-un discussed a series of issues such as national management and economic construction at the meeting, pointing out that fundamental changes should be brought to the country’s economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood, including the establishment of strict disciplines of the national economic work system and order, and the correction of major industrial sectors Task.
Kim Jong-un also pointed out that in accordance with the current situation, actively take measures to comprehensively protect national sovereignty and security, and specify specific tasks to foreign work, the munitions industry and the armed forces.
White House National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien said on the 29th that the United States is paying close attention to North Korea’s move and expects Kim Jong-un to keep his promise to promote denuclearization. However, he warned that if North Korea tests long-range or nuclear-capable missiles, the United States will be very disappointed and will take appropriate countermeasures.
