On May 22, 2025, the United Arab Emirates achieved a remarkable milestone by setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest handprint flag ever created. This monumental artwork, unveiled at the Pakistan Auditorium in Dubai, stands as a vibrant testament to the nation’s unity and diversity.

The record-breaking flag was the centerpiece of the “Hands of Unity” campaign, a month-long initiative led by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) in collaboration with Emirates Loves Pakistan and artist Rubab Zahra. The project amassed 24,514 individual handprints from participants representing over 100 nationalities, reflecting the UAE’s multicultural fabric. Contributors ranged from toddlers to delivery riders, embodying the campaign’s inclusive spirit.
A Community-Driven Endeavor
Commencing on April 13 in Al Quoz, the campaign spanned 39 activation sites across the Emirates, including schools, universities, labor camps, and community centers. Volunteers traversed cities like Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain to collect handprints. The collaborative effort culminated in a 12 by 24-meter flag, symbolizing the collective gratitude and solidarity of the UAE’s residents.
Official Recognition and Celebrations
The unveiling ceremony was attended by over 250 guests, including Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad. A Guinness World Records adjudicator officially certified the achievement, praising the initiative as a powerful representation of community spirit.
Artistic Vision and Legacy
Artist Rubab Zahra, the creative force behind the project, envisioned the flag as a “gift of love” from the Pakistani community to the UAE.
